About Us

The Hong Kong Association of Careers Masters and Guidance Masters (HKACMGM) was founded in 1959 with membership open to all secondary schools. The objective of the Association is to help schools to deliver careers and general guidance services to their students.

Our Association now has 389 members. Over the past years, the Association has worked very hard by disseminating information and arranging talks for teachers and students on careers and higher education and offering assistance and advice to schools in order to keep students and their parents fully informed of the various opportunities for further education and employment in Hong Kong. The Association also holds seminars, experience sharing sessions and workshops for Guidance Masters and helps them to update and develop their expertise in this fast changing world.

本會簡介

香港輔導教師協會於一九五九年成立，會員以各中學為對象。本會的宗旨是協助學校為學生提供升學就業及一般輔導服務。

本會現有389間會員學校。歷年來，本會通過派發資料及安排講座，致力為全港中學生提供有關升學及就業的服務，並盡量為各學校提供協助及意見，使學生及家長明暸在本港就業或升學的各種途徑。本會亦為支援輔導老師舉辦多元化的相關活動。自輔導組於－九八四年成立以來，本會一直致力發展這項輔導服務。

The Hong Kong Association of Careers Masters and Guidance Masters

Seminars & Workshops

Different kinds of seminars and workshops were organized for careers teachers and guidance teachers, topics included New Academic Structure for Senior Secondary Education, Careers Assessment Tools, Life planning, Chinese Career Key, Mental health, Web addiction, Drug addiction, Neuro-Linguistic Programming NLP, Stress,Suicide and Grief Counselling etc.

Careers Guidance Course

A short course of 10 meetings was organized for Careers teachers. It was specially designed for teachers currently involved in careers guidance service in schools, and those who were interested in knowing more about the careers development of their students.

Guidance Course

A short course of 10 meetings was organized for Guidance teachers. Experienced guidance teachers and social workers shared with teachers on crisis management, ways to deal with mass media, guidance to students with mental disturbance etc.

Summer Work Experience Scheme

The Scheme provides opportunities for students from member schools to acquire work knowledge and interpersonal skill and to experience the actual working environment in safe working conditions covered by an insurance policy. Participating students (S.5&7) are arranged to work in host organizations during the summer vacation.

Newsletter

Three issues of newsletter were published each year. It reported the functions organized by the Association and provided useful information for careers and guidance teachers, like JUPAS interview techniques and development of local Associate Degree programmes.

JUPAS Talk and Statistics

A JUPAS Seminar inviting representatives from all JUPAS Member Institutions was organized. It enabled members to gather first-hand information from the 8 JUPAS Member Institutions, to update materials on application and to clarify any queries about JUPAS application, which has long intrigued them.

To assist students in making good decision in JUPAS, the Association complied successful cases from member schools onto a CD so that careers teachers could take it as a reference before they counsel the students. This CD would only be distributed to member schools.

Collaboration with the EMB – Publication of the S.5 and S.7 Handbooks

Two handbooks were published each year for all S.5 and S.7 students. It provided valuable information before the release of the result of public examinations.

香港輔導教師協會工作簡介 

講座及工作坊

本會每年均為會員學校舉辦不同類型的講座及工作坊，曾舉辦的講座或工作坊有：新高中學制研討會、「職業評估工具的本土化」工作坊、人生理「才」工作坊、「中文擇業指南」工作坊、「精神健康在校園」研討會、「如何戒掉打機的上癮行為」研討會、藥物教育教師研習班、「運用NLP去提升教學的效果」訓練課程、「壓力、自殺與哀傷輔導」講座等。

事業輔導課程

本會每年為升學輔導老師舉辦一個為期十課的短期課程，介紹升學輔導理論，及實際推行輔導課程技巧等。

輔導課程

除了升學輔導課程外，本會亦為輔導老師舉辦十節之輔導課程，由經驗的輔導老師及社工主講，協助老師掌握及洞悉學生的需要，讓參加者更具體掌握實用的輔導技巧。

暑期工作體驗計劃

教統局每年均與本會合辦的暑期工作體驗計劃，安排中五及中七的學生在暑假期間到不同的工商機構工作數星期，了解各行業的運作，明瞭工作所需的能力、態度和其他要求，令同學們在踏入工作世界前能好好裝備自己。此計劃只接受會員學校之學生參加。

通訊

本會每年會出版三期會訊「輔導之聲」，報導本會舉辦的活動，及教育界之最新發展等。

大學聯招講座及統計

為協助升學輔導老師指導中七學生揀選大學課程，本會每年都舉辦大學聯招講座，邀請八間大專院校代表講解最新發展，及解答老師問題。

為協助升學輔導老師輔導中七同學選校及選科，本會收集成功經聯招入讀大學的學生成績資料，並將之編輯、分類，以光碟形式分發給各會員學校。

與教育統籌局合作出版中五及中七學生升學手冊

教統局每年均與本會合作出版中五及中七學生升學手冊，派發給全港中五及中七學生，讓他們為放榜作好準備。
